When you consider I've been blogging/journaling in some form since 1993, you might well understand why I take breaks now and again from more serious blogging.
Vox was a godsend in that I didn't have to worry about being serious, or drive myself batty by writing longer thought pieces and commentary on current events. But as I mentioned in my "blog crush" post, I've missed that sort of blogging, and have been thinking of ways to return to it. I finally decided that the best way to do it was to just do it, to borrow a hoary old advertising slogan.
So, cecily.info exists for those times you want links and commentary, and Vox me when you want the frillier things.
What is your new years resolution for 2007?
I don't usually make resolutions. I believe that any self-improvement should be conscious, and carefully attended to. I also think that instead of picking an arbitrary day in the year, that we should strive to improve ourselves and become the best versions of ourselves every day.
Do you plan on going out or staying in for new years?
Staying in. It's what old married people do.
Was 2006 a good year or a bad year?
It was challenging in parts, but all told it was a very, very good year. New job, more money, love that bloomed and continues to grow. I might kvetch now and again, but I really am a very lucky woman.
Did you make any resolutions for 2006, and if so did you keep them?
See #1.
Let's see a party.
Oh, hallelujah and happy holidays - every Aqua Teen Hunger Force episode online and available for immediate viewing. My personal favorite? Revenge of the Mooninites.
Audio: Share one of your favorite songs from 2006.
Just one? Can a sister break it down by genre?
Pop - Pop music was pretty strong for me this year, and a few old favorites (and a new favorite) helped restore my faith in the genre. Christina Aguilera's "Ain't No Other Man", JT's "My Love/LoveStoned", Corrine Bailey Rae's "Like A Star" and Rihanna's "SOS" have each earned a permanent slot on my iPod, but for me, there was no better pop song than Lily Allen's "Smile".
Maybe the second time is the charm? I've submitted another photo to JPG Magazine's photo contest. If you feel so inclined, and if you agree that it fits with the theme, kindly throw a vote or two my way.
Thanks!

Happy holidays to you and yours. Yes, this is a pathetic attempt to make up for my failure to send out christmas cards and season's greetings, but I promise that I took this photo with each. and. every. one. of. you. in mind.
